PDW's 4 Year

Where does the time go? I mean it.... my grandma said that as I get older the time flies by so I should enjoy it while I can. Well grandma, you were right. It seems like it was yesterday I moved here to Portland, started throwing events, and met the boys from PDW. The have been a great supporter of the BLAM and even better friends.... and I say that even though both Erik and Murph are Packer fans (Go Vikes). Dan, you're all about the Lions and I'm okay with that. I love these guys and I use the shit out of their products. Unfortunately I will miss the party because I'll be working at the NYC Chrome Hub, but I'll be there in spirit.

Rebecca Gates Plays Chrome

I am so excited to have my pal, Rebecca Gates come play a show at Chrome PDX. Join us for a night of drinks and jams.

I just saw this video shot by my pal, Dan Sharp, of my other friend, Molly Cameron, racing cross. Enjoy..... or else. If you haven't picked up on it I usually throw out idle threats, but one of these days I will come through and boy will you be sorry.... that was another one.

...aaaaand I got another one

I got another motorcycle. This one was a gift from Patrick Funk via Kyle Von. Thanks guys. It's a 1976 KZ 650B. I am beyond stoked. Patrick was telling me it needed a name. I told him since the people who had the XS before me painted it gold and the dude kept calling it Goldie, I called it Goldie Hawn. P Funk said "well, if your other bike is Goldie Hawn, this one is Kurt Russell..... AND SO IT WAS NAMED.

Look at Kurt, hanging out all by himself... lonely. Come with me sir, you can stay in my driveway.

Here is my pal, Jacob Winfield, one of the founding members of Good Fortune Lucky Toolbox. Oh, what's that? It's our Tuesday night motorcycle club. No BD.

Wow, I look good, huh? That's the "I'm ready to shred" face.

The boys and I got a big kick out of loading a motorcycle in a minivan. Why? Hey, what's with the questions all of a sudden? I thought this was pretty straight forward. Well, minivans usually have soccer moms and families in them, not motorcycles.
Be prepared to see a lot more coming out of Good Fortune Lucky Toolbox and then before you know it we'll be partying with these guys.

Double Happiness

I just got this bike tonight. 2 motorcycles in 1 month? Thems some good odds right there. I am so excited, but the dude talking in the video at half speed kind of creeps me out.

Track Stuff

We are pleased to be sponsoring the PDW 3 Race Omnium at the Alpenrose Velodrome. Be on the look out for Chrome PDX's very own sewer, Lara (pronounced like Sarah) Kessler, crushing it. On the track she's an animal, here in the shop she is the same.... so, there's that.
Look at her.... so aero.

I am the happiest girl in the world

I love working at Chrome. Love it.... but I'd be a big fat liar if I told you I didn't miss wrenching on bikes. Sooooo...... I got myself the sweetest project of all: 1978 Yamaha XS 650. It's one year older than me! This is going to be a total tear down project but that is the exciting part for me. It was on Craigslist for a couple of hours and I found out about it because Tony Pereira sent me a link. He has the same model and just finished his project. I am so excited!!!
This is what I want it to look like ish My pal, James Crowe (comes in at the 2:52 mark) inspired me to get the XS650.

Sunday

I started the day off late again. It's nice being able to sleep in. Usually my hound dogs wake me up. I met Sean, Kyle, and this kid Chris at a BBQ in Dolores Park. It was a rad day for it. I got Stoney Bologna and then we all went for a walk about on Saturday Streets where I happened into Mission Bicycles. It's a cute place that looks like their focus in on single speeds. I am really stoked on this trip because last time I was here I worked a bunch and didn't get to go out and explore, but this time I have been all over. So great. After walking we all piled into Chris' car and went to yet another BBQ. We ended the night off with the movie Ted. It was funny enough to make it a good closing to a full and wonderful day.

edit: the sweet motorcycle wasn't in the bike shop.

Saturday Part 3

After Rapha we headed out for food and then went to meet up with some peeps for drinks. The boys convinced the hostess to come out dancing with us and it turns out she is a trained dancer so she and I showed everyone what was up. You probably already know this, but I am a great dancer. J sayin. We wrapped up the night with burritos. It was a pretty amazing day.

Saturday Part 2: Rapha SF

I texted Emily, who used to run the Rapha retail space here in SF and she gave me the heads up on a party they were having at the space so after the park we headed over there. It was fun going from an alleycat in the park to a Rapha mixer. Two completely different worlds, but both share the love of cycling.

Saturday Part 1

It took me quite some time to get up and moving Saturday morning, but once we did, Eddie and I met up with Sean and his friend Kyle who was visiting from Portland at the store to get the van. I know Sean from Portland and he started working for Chrome right around the same time I did. When we stopped in we got to hang out and enjoy some checkpoint action as they were making the racers chug a beer and eat crackers. We then headed to Potrero Del Sol Park to meet up and watch the men's race, meet some peeps, drink some beer, and enjoy the sun.

Friday Night.

Friday after the sales meeting, Wonka came into HQ and we started to enjoy the drink. After he dipped, I convinced Papa Steve to let us polish off the bottle of whiskey he had on his desk. Soon a lively game of garbage can ball broke out and we were all making crazy shots. Steve was draining buckets.. like a boss. After Steve left one thing lead to another and we started to wrestle. Eddie tried to take me down, but I choked him out and he had to give the tap. Not going to lie, we kind of trashed the place. Sorry for partying guys.
